4 HOURS talks about a group of works analyzing Present Continuous as time/presence phenomena. They are usually large scale multi-panel drawing installations, where time of drawing for each panel is set beforehand. Whilst drawing I use a clock to check the time. By this method, I believe, I can enclose exact amount of Present Continuous moments, cautiously monitored by my sense of sight, into line-making. When I draw a line, the time and energy of making it - my vital energy, is translated into materiality of the mark - pigment particles on a surface. I aim to create the material proof that I am alive.
